11/27/2022 0 Comments True skate trick list![]() ![]() Regardless if Skate-like controls are flawed, what matters is that whoever's playing with them is having fun. Let's not claim that the game encourages creativity and then shame those who don't "play the right way" because there isn't a "right way" to play Session. It doesn't matter if they won't have access to some tricks, so long as they're having fun with what they're given. Let's not shame them for playing the game their way. If some people want to play with legacy controls all the way through in 1.0, that's up to them. Session is a skateboarding sim, yes-but it's neither hardcore or casual. Just don't go throwing shade at those who don't because that's objectively wrong seeing as how the game offers a bunch of options for us to customize how the game plays to be more casual. If you play it as a hardcore sim, more power to you. There's no need to try and establish Session as a hardcore sim when the devs want it to be accessible. Those of you who are skaters irl and those of us who aren't but who still enjoy the game as it is can coexist. We really would not be here without Skate, no matter how much the skating community discussed this control scheme in the past.īottom line is, Session is so pro-creativity that it gives players a lot of options for them to play as they please, be it with default physics settings, with complex tricks turned off, or even a control scheme that might be more familiar to a lot of people thanks to Skate. For all we know, the devs might be huge Skate fans, so imagine how it must feel that part of their audience is throwing it and its accomplishments under the bus simply because it isn't an ultra-realistic sim. Was this thread revived specifically to ♥♥♥♥ on other games and gloat about how brilliant Session is? I love Session myself, but being dismissive of other games just because their control scheme isn't innovative *in 2021* is ridiculous. No need to rag on people or tell them "you're wrong" for not having the same opinions as you. Let people play their way, and you can keep playing your way. Skateboarding is about artistic expression and freedom. That's literally the definition of casual. You skate around aimlessly doing anything you want. The game being so accessible and easy to play, makes it for casual gamers. Being able to do a tre flip irl doesn't mean your tre's in game are somehow better. Nobody cares if you're a skater irl or not. That being said, at some point it would be fun for Creature to add objectives for filming or even comps. Gamers don't ONLY play games with scores. Nobody here asked or even mentioned anything about score, so that's completely irrelevant. They should stop playing though because the game isn't "for them", right? Score has nothing to do with anything. I know people that play it that don't skate, and they use default controls and love it. Anytime someone makes a game, they want as many people playing it as possible. Not really a big deal if they don't, but there are people that want it, so maybe we shouldn't act like those people are ruining your gameplay experience.Īlso to say that anybody would make a game ONLY for people that skate for real or that they didn't have gamers in mind, is incredibly arrogant. It just depends on whether Creature wants to take the time to eventually do it or not. Session is way too early in development to shut the door on something like making Legacy controls better/more accessible. There are ways to do certain tricks on legacy without breaking the game, like using the bumpers/R1/L1 as a modifier for pressure tricks or whatever. There's no right or wrong way to skate, just like in a supposed "sim", there shouldn't be a "wrong" control scheme. skateboarding itself, is all about creativity and doing things the way YOU want to do them. The nature of any sim on pc, is having options for control. It's not going to detract from Session if Legacy controls are better than they are now. The kids that are riding the D, need to just relax. doesn't matter which games came out first, you gotta give credit where credit is due.Īll that being said. Why are you arguing about skateboarding games anyway? Who gives a ♥♥♥♥ if someone thought of a game first or not? Skate DID pave the way for other skateboarding games, just like THPS paved the way for other skateboarding games. ![]() You can do it 1st try with no issue, unless you mess with your stats to lower them from default. I would be willing to be most of you can't do it. Do a backside 360 heelflip on flat ground. To make the asinine claim that it isn't, is misguided but also easily proven wrong. ![]()
